YES, I want to see your puppies!
Our current litter of Vizsla puppies has me thinking of all the reasons we all need great pictures of our litters, and individual puppies. I’m on both sides now as a breeder, having raised Brittanys for decades, and now being a first-time breeder of Vizslas. As a long-time breeder, I love having great pictures of each puppy in our litters to refer back to after they’re grown up. It’s part of thorough record-keeping, as well as just being a real delight to look back on how adorable our little puppies were! And as a new breeder for our second breed, not only do I want to document their growth for my own reference and learning - but nothing helps sell puppies better than good photos! I started taking individual photos of them from week one (in fact, I even had a fun “maternity shoot” with mom before they were born!):
How does a litter photo session work?
Young puppies need to be kept safe and protected from communicable diseases, so before vaccinations, all puppy/litter sessions take place in their home. (Check my travel plans to see where I’m planning to be!)
We’ll discuss your goals for the session, and what you’d like to have afterward. Together we’ll decide whether an indoor studio session would work best, or if they’re already playing outdoors and a good space is available, we can either do all of the photos outdoors or have a combination of both. Do you want to document the stage of growth, have images for advertising, or just have some amazing photos as keepsakes and memories of your litter? Whatever you have in mind, we’ll make a plan, including the best date and timing for both you and the puppies. With loads of experience photographing puppies of all ages, personalities and energy levels, rest assured we’ll get great pictures of any puppy no matter how active (or not)! It just takes a second (and great timing) to capture the perfect moment!
What happens after the session?
Of course each week with a litter of puppies flies by! Understanding you may need photos for advertising the litter or individual puppies, these sessions are designed for a quick turnaround. I will get straight to work picking and lightly editing the best images from your session, and upload them to an online gallery for you to make your choices for digital files and/or printed products. My goal is to have this done within a week after your session. You might like to include one or more images or prints with your go-home packages for each puppy, or give your puppy buyers the option to view and purchase directly from the photo gallery.
What’s the cost?
Litter packages start at $250, which includes the session, light retouching for all images in your gallery, and your top choice of image for each puppy in the litter for up to 6 puppies (for litters of 7+, add $25/puppy). Want to add on a group photo of the entire litter, with or without parents, stacked photos for evaluation, or have something specific in mind? No problem, we’ll discuss your goals and vision in pre-session planning.
