What is
the Sport & Field
Project?

Award-winning professional dog photographer Jessica Carlson’s passion project will take her across the Midwest (and beyond, by request!) to document the beauty, purpose, and spirit of the AKC Sporting Group. From their first puppy steps, through their development into hunters and competitors, all the way through their golden years, this project is designed to highlight the personality, ability, and athleticism of Sporting breed dogs as well as their deep bond with their humans.

This ambitious project will culminate in a stunning coffee table book showcasing these versatile dogs in all stages of life.

The Invitation

Owners, breeders, trainers, and handlers of AKC Sporting Group breeds (including Miscellaneous and FSS) are invited to be part of this visual storytelling journey.

The Planning

Most sessions will take place in the Midwest, other locations by request or special circumstance. Similar to typical full sessions, we’ll discuss timing, location, pricing, artwork options, answer any questions you might have, and then make a plan for your session and finished product(s).

The Setup

Once we have a date and location, a $199 deposit will reserve your session. This full amount will be applied as credit towards any artwork purchase from your session. BONUS - the FIRST of each breed photographed for this project will have a $99 session deposit, and still receive $199 credit towards artwork purchase!

The Results

All sessions will include 3 web-shareable digital images and social sharing for your participation in the project. You will have options to purchase more (or all!) of the photos from your session as wall art, albums, prints and/or digital files.
Select images will be featured in the final book, along with credits and recognition for all participants.
